In February I was already publishing investigations into Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, and by March I was reaching out to congressional offices about records I was preserving and questions involving survivor testimony. By May, allegations that I had threatened the president and senior federal officials were being examined by law enforcement, including a claim involving names written on bullets. I did not make those threats, and I preserved the May 22 recorded Las Vegas police interview in which the investigator described what had been reported and later said the allegation checked was not valid.
The contacts with law enforcement, the public accusations, and the work required to preserve the evidence were exhausting for our household. In June, Substack suspended my publication, cutting off access to an audience and a source of income I had spent months developing. Substack's correspondence attributes the enforcement to alleged account linkage and circumvention, which I dispute; I cannot establish that any particular critic caused the platform's decision. I kept my writing available where I could and began building the public documentary archives that became The Living Library.
By September, I was asking agencies for help with household obligations, including rent and utilities, and those dated messages document how far the financial pressure had already gone. On October 25, police came to our home late at night during another welfare check while our godchildren were visiting, and the children were frightened. Las Vegas police subsequently confirmed preserving dispatch and communications materials for that visit. I still do not have the original caller information, and I am pursuing the records and legal options needed to establish who was responsible for individual events.
Months of disruption to our ability to earn and the safety of our home have left us struggling with essential expenses. I am pursuing records and lawful accountability while trying to keep our household stable. I am asking for help with our ordinary bills and would also welcome paid work I can complete.
