Who is Troy Barile?
Troy Raymond Barile is an investigative journalist based in Las Vegas, Nevada. For over a year, he has been reporting on the networks that protected Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell — the people who helped cover for them, discredit their accusers, and manage the public fallout after Maxwell’s conviction.
He published over 70 articles on Substack under the name “The Fallout with TBS.” On June 9, 2026, his account was suspended. That was the exact same day Maxwell’s legal deadline closed in federal court.
He is still here, still reporting, and his name is on all of it.
What did he find?
Between May 31 and June 2, 2026, Troy obtained audio recordings of three separate people — recorded on different dates, without any of them knowing what the others had said — discussing how to handle witnesses connected to the Maxwell case.
The most important recording is from May 31, 2026. On that tape, a woman named Samantha Harris, calling from South Africa, names Leah Saffian — Ghislaine Maxwell’s own defense attorney — while discussing how witness statements could be used to “undo wrong.”
Two days later, a second speaker with no knowledge of the May 31 recording independently expressed worry that the recordings would be used to show witnesses were “liars” and help Maxwell secure a retrial.
Troy has 27 clips. Every file carries original metadata available for forensic review. He transmitted the full evidence archive to Congress on June 24, 2026.

Ghislaine Maxwell is in federal prison right now. She was convicted of sex trafficking children. She is actively fighting to get out — her legal team filed a petition to overturn her conviction.
For that petition to have any chance, the witnesses who testified against her need to be discredited. One of those witnesses is Anouska De Georgiou, who testified at Maxwell’s trial. Troy had direct reporting contact with her during the same period these conversations were happening on tape.
The audio connects Maxwell’s own defense attorney to a civilian operation targeting a trial witness — while the post-conviction petition was live and while Troy was actively reporting on it.
Congress took it seriously. Congressional staff visited Maxwell’s prison on June 16, 2026. House members formally questioned the BOP policy change governing prisoner placement eight days before that. An independent legal analyst published a review showing Maxwell’s prison placement conflicts with standard federal classification rules.

When his reporting was noticed, the same operation turned on him. His name was routed into federal danger systems through civilian channels — people described him to federal agencies as dangerous. Federal agents came to his door on May 28, 2026.
On June 9 — the same day Maxwell’s habeas reply deadline closed — his Substack was suspended and his income stopped at the same moment. Someone forged his husband’s name on a threatening email to his editors, sent while his husband’s mother was ill with cancer.
He never stopped working. He documented every piece of it, solved every angle, and is still standing with his name on all of it and the evidence ready for review.
He is not alone in this. Ashleigh, Jana, and Elle have been with this investigation from the beginning, with full access to everything Troy has. All four of them are still here.
