Judge Engelmayer's January 21, 2026 order in United States v. Maxwell, 20-cr-330, states that Maxwell's criminal case was effectively closed except for her pending §2255 petition. This supports the public statement that the 2026 Maxwell issue was a live post-conviction court-window issue.
Prior review showed a government response deadline of May 19, 2026 and a Maxwell reply deadline of June 9, 2026. The site treats that as a review lead unless the current docket is verified again before public launch.
DOJ's July 24, 2025 Maxwell interview transcript identifies David Oscar Markus and Leah Saffian as counsel for Ghislaine Maxwell. The site uses that public source only to explain why Samantha's attorney-source language belongs in the Maxwell post-conviction lane.
