Employer-facing allegation
The preserved email reportedly accused Troy of threats against journalists, political figures, and the President, referenced Secret Service/FBI/law-enforcement contact, and pressured his editors.
Editor response
The editor response is important because the recipient recognized the contact as bad-faith. That is third-party evidence that the smear attempt did not read as credible to people familiar with Troy's work.
